Cornfields and a Whole Lot of Nowhere

(The Freshies and me on our private charter...we're big time)

This must be what celebrities feel like. Wakeup, take a coach to the airport, hop on a private charter and fly to wherever your heart desires. No security, no waiting on runways, no baggage claim. Only drawback is we weren't headed to Bermuda, Hawaii, or Miami to enjoy the sunshine and golden beaches. No, we were headed to Des Moines, Iowa.

So far Iowa is pretty much what I expected Iowa to be: a lot of flat, barren land with really nice people. (It's fitting I guess that the first thing we saw of the state from the airplane window was miles and miles of cornfields) Although Berkeley, California was our OBVIOUS first choice, going to Iowa will definitely be an adventure and I can honestly say I probably would have never made it to the state if it wasn't for the NCAA tourney! For those who don't know, the Lehigh women's basketball team won the PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT last weekend (we goin dancin!) and now we are a 13 seed in the NCAA tourney to face 4 seed Iowa State on their home court in Ames, Iowa. HIstory and Vegas odds say we're going to lose big, but did anyone watch the men's games yesterday? 13 seed Murray State beat 4 seed Vanderbilt in the afternoon, AND THEN 14 seed Ohio beat 3 seed Georgetown. Foreshadowing anyone?? I think so. As long as we come out, play our hardest, and earn some respect for the Patriot League in front of Iowa State's 13000 fans, I'll be happy. A win wouldn't be too tough to swallow either though. Let's go LUWB!

Hello World!

Well, after many months of wanting to and just not getting around to it, I have finally created a blog! I must admit that the factor that finally made me get to it is a school assignment (lame, I know), but nonetheless I am excited and ready to document my life. As a rookie college student at Lehigh University, I have already had many adventures - some good some well, not so good - and what better way to document them and share them with the world than a blog? Starting in the sunshiney state of California, my move to Pennsylvania has been as much of a shocker as one would expect, but it does make for some amazing stories I must say. If you don't find my stories interesting I'm sorry, but give me a chance (remember I'm new to this!) and if you still don't like them just stop reading and be on your merry way. In this blog I'm going to write whatever comes to mind about life, be it fun events, things I read in the news, or philosophical rambling, but whatever it is I'll try to keep it interesting. What I ask from you (and this is very important for the school assignment I'm linking to this) is to comment as much as possible, both on whatever it is I post and what other users have commented about. Whether I know you or not I'd like to hear what you think and I want this to be a very open blog that everyone can enjoy. Anyways, that's enough for now so I hope you have a wonderful day and check back tomorrow!
